Dear Supervisor Nottoli:
Re: Mixed Income Housing

The League of Women Voters of Sacramento County urges the Board of Supervisors to instruct staff to proceed to defend the Mixed Income Housing Ordinance in court and to halt negotiations with the BIA. As you recall, the League supported the Ordinance through the two years of hearings that resulted in its adoption.

The ordinance has become a matter of interest again as the County attempts to settle the BIA law suit. We oppose settling the suit. The lower court rejected the BIA position and the County is in a good position to win an appeal.

We also have serious concerns about public policy, which has been the outcome of extensive public hearings, being amended without the participation of interested parties and without the ability of the public to know what is being discussed.

Sincerely,

Roseanna Torretto
President
